One of our core products (and an area), we can offer far-reaching expertise is open gears. Using open gears is still one of the best ways to synchronise large shafts in shredder, log washer or mixer applications.

We can engineer the gears to suit your application power, speed and torque but more importantly to ensure life span; the complete application needs to be evaluated.

Quality gears that are hardened and ground to flawless standards is essential but we must also consider;

– How is the alignment of the shaft achieved?
– How can we allow for shaft deflection?
– How much backlash should be engineered to allow for shaft
deflection under load?
– Lubrication?
– Shaft fitting?

We love to look at the complete application and then engineer a drive system that works. New designs are great but we have also retrofitted gears into applications that had repeated gear unit failures.
