Project & R&D Engineer

We’re looking for a Project & R&D Engineer to join the team and play a key role in developing new products and engineered solutions for our customers.

This is a hands-on engineering role that would suit someone with a strong mechanical design background, experience using 3D CAD software, and a genuine interest in turning ideas into real-world products.

You’ll be involved from the very beginning of a project, taking concepts and customer requirements through design, calculations, prototyping, testing and final production. No two projects will be the same, and you’ll have the opportunity to work on a wide range of mechanical and electromechanical products and systems.

At Technidrive, we design and supply engineered solutions across a range of industrial sectors, so we’re looking for someone who enjoys problem-solving, thinking creatively and finding practical engineering solutions.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Managing R&D and product development projects from concept through to completion
• Producing 3D models, assemblies and manufacturing drawings
• Carrying out mechanical calculations and engineering analysis
• Working with customers to understand application and performance requirements
• Developing concepts and turning ideas into commercially viable products
• Building and testing prototypes
• Working closely with suppliers and manufacturers
• Supporting product testing, validation and continuous improvement activities
• Creating technical documentation, manuals and reports
• Managing project timelines and keeping development programmes on track

What We’re Looking For

Ideally You Will Have:

• A degree or qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
• Experience using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor or similar packages
• Experience producing manufacturing drawings and technical documentation
• Strong mechanical design skills
• Experience carrying out engineering calculations
• Good project management and organisational skills
• A practical approach to engineering and problem-solving

Bonus Points For:

• Experience with product development or R&D projects
• Knowledge of electrical or electromechanical systems
• Experience with prototype development and testing
• Understanding of manufacturing processes
• Experience dealing directly with customers and suppliers

Training & Development

While we’re looking for someone with a solid design background, we’ll provide specific training on our products, applications, design standards and engineering processes.

You’ll work alongside experienced engineers and will have the opportunity to develop your skills across a wide range of technologies and industries.
